IN THE COUNCIL OF BOONE COUNTY, INDIANA, April 8, 2003:

RESOLUTION ________

    WHEREAS, the Indiana General Assembly in its 2002 special session promised a certain level of Property Tax relief to residential homeowners through an increase in the Homestead Credit;

    WHEREAS, the promised Homestead Credit increase has been reduced by a so-called "correction" without action of the Indiana General Assembly;

    WHEREAS, the reduction in the promised Homestead Credit has not been restored by the Indiana General Assembly; and

    WHEREAS, the Boone County Council is desirous of expressing to the elected public servants in the Indiana General Assembly its official position that the promised Homestead Credit be restored through a Manufacturing Inventory Tax Credit or other acceptable means.

    Upon a call for an aye and a nay vote, the same stood as follows:
